Truth

Truth

"To be or not to be, that is the question whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune or to take arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing, end them." - William Shakespeare

There are but two ways
To come to a conclusion false.
Either you begin with premises false
Or faulty logic you use as guide.

And though it is true that you can begin with premises false,
And faulty logic use to find a conclusion true.
Better for you it would have been had neither been given you.

As it is though you have been granted not truth
But rather ill words of me hath byfallen thy ear.
And though I wouldst still like to trust thou logic
I must pray that it was with premises false that you began.

And yet no matter it would be,
For seeing pictures differently, still
In fact, I'm not sure if you see it at all
In fact, you're not sure if anything at all there is to see.

And though I see it from the end,
Having realized that for which I strive and you strive but to see,
I watch you blindly turn in fear never having held before -
Trusting the darkness of a forest empty cold.

And I must turn my head and for now admit defeat
In order to maintain that for which I strive.
That reality which like a vicious hunger rips my stomach
And throws the bile around until nauseous I turn and shaking.

Amidst a forest of trees whose leaves dance in the wind
I lean over a rock and vomit and crying.
And I shake and cry having seen already the
Deceptive premises you hold so tight.

And pray to God I that
Bitter truth you may find.
And taste it....
Strong.... Sting.... Biting.

No regrets, no apologies.
What is done is done.
The blade thus thrust already
Hath me cut and I have bled.

And I have died in my defeat,
And in my dying won not you
But truth it was I kept
And dignity too.

"To thine own self be true" - William Shakespeare
